The ten best young stallions of the 2021 crop were awarded a premium at the Verden licensing of dressage stallions. Seven of them found a new owner at the stallion sales. The most expensive: a liver chestnut by Bon Courage, who was auctioned off for 170,000 Euros. A total of 30 of the 54 stallions were licensed for Hanover.
The Bon Courage/Rotspon son (breeder: Hans-Ludwig Dittmer, Rhadereistadt, exhibitor: ZG Dittmer, Rhadereistadt) presented himself at the highest level on all three licensing days. "We'll see him again in sport," was Heike Kemmer's comment on the liver chestnut, who will be trained at the Schulten-Baumer dressage stable.
A black stallion by Dancier Gold/Vivaldi (breeder: Michael and Claudia Roehrhoff, Mönchengladbach, exhibitor: Gestüt Sprehe GmbH, Löningen), in whose veins flows the blood of Isabell Werth's Olympic mare Weihegold, was sold for 150,000 Euros. After the liberalisation of the stallion licensing, he will go down in Hannoveraner history as the first Oldenburg horse to be licensed in the Niedersachsenhalle and awarded a premium.

Barry Alan[1] Jordan (* 17. Dezember1957[2] in Port Elizabeth; † 13. November2024 in Magdeburg) war ein deutscher Organist, Dirigent, Komponist und Kirchenmusikersüdafrikanischer Abstammung. Er war langjähriger Domkantor und Organist am evangelischenMagdeburger Dom.
Ausbildung und Tätigkeit
[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]Barry Jordan studierte von 1976 bis 1979 an der University of Cape Town (Klavier und Komposition bei Peter Klatzow, Orgel bei Shirley Gie, Barry Smith und Gilian Weir[3]) und schloss sein Studium mit dem Bachelor of Music ab. Ab 1977 war er Organ Scholar an der anglikanischen St. George’s Cathedral in Kapstadt und, als Ersatzwehrdienstleistender, vier Jahre lang Klarinettist in der südafrikanischen Polizeikapelle in Pretoria. In diesen Jahren komponierte er viel, studierte Klavier bei Lily Stroux, war Mitbegründer und Leiter des Ensembles für Neue Musik „Obelisk“, arbeitete als freiberuflicher Organist in Pretoria und Mitglied des semiprofessionellen Kammerchores der South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) in Johannesburg. 1982 gewann er ein SAMRO Overseas Scholarship (ein als Preisausschreibung vergebenes Stipendium zum weiterführenden Studium im Ausland).
